Blood rain

                 Red rain in Kerala

The Kerala red rain phenomenon was a blood rain event that occurred from 25 July to 23 September 2001, when heavy downpours of red-coloured rain fell sporadically on the southern Indian state of Kerala, staining clothes pink.Yellow, green, and black rain was also reported. Coloured rain was also reported in Kerala in 1896 and several times since, most recently in June 2012, and from 15 November 2012 to 27 December 2012 in eastern and north-central provinces of Sri Lanka.
New evidence has been discovered that reinforces the panspermia thoery that the red rain which fell in India in 2001, contained cells unlike any found on Earth.  Panspermia is the idea championed by physicist Fred Hoyle that life exists throughout the universe in comets, asteroids and interstellar dust clouds and that life of Earth was seeded from one or more of these sources.
In 1903, in the German journal Umschau, Svante Arrhenius removed the meteors from the equation. Instead, he wrote, individual spores wafted throughout space, colonizing any hospitable planet they lit on. Arrhenius named the theory panspermia.

A growing body of evidence suggests that it might be Hoyle and Arrhenius might have been correct.
In 2001, the inhabitants of Kerala in the southern India observed red rain falling during a two month period. One, Godfrey Louis, a physicist at nearby Cochin University of Science and Technology, intrigued by this phenomena, collected numerous samples of red rain to find out what was causing the contamination, perhaps sand or dust from some distant desert.
Examining the red rain under a microscope found that the rain water was filled with red cells that look remarkably like conventional bugs on Earth. What was strange was that Louis found no evidence of DNA in these cells which would rule out most kinds of known biological cells (red blood cells are one possibility but ought to be destroyed quickly by rain water).
Louis published his results in the peer-reviewed journal Astrophysics and Space in 2006, along with the tentative suggestion that the cells could be extraterrestrial, perhaps from a comet that had disintegrated in the upper atmosphere and then seeded clouds as the cells floated down to Earth as well as reports in the region of a sonic boom-type noise, which could have been caused by the entry of an object in the upper atmosphere.
Since his initial discovery, Louis has intensified his study the cells with an international team including Chandra vickram singh from the University of Cardiff in the UK and one of the leading proponents of the panspermia theory, which he developed in the latter half of the 20th century with the Fred Hoyle.
The team's new research show that the cells reproduce at a temperature of 121 degrees C. "Under these conditions daughter cells appear within the original mother cells and the number of cells in the samples increases with length of exposure to 121 degrees C," they report. By contrast, the cells are inert at room temperature. The spores of some extremophiles can survive these kinds of temperatures and then reproduce at lower temperatures but nothing discovered to date on Earth behaves like this at these temperatures -an extraordinary claim that will need to be independently verified before it will be more broadly accepted.
vickram singh's team say they've examined the way these fluoresce when bombarded with light and say it is remarkably similar to various unexplained emission spectra seen in various parts of the galaxy. One such place is the Red Rectangle (image above), a cloud of dust and gas around a young star in the Monocerous constellation.

Dogs

Each breed of dog has its own life expectancy, A life expectancy is not a maximum age, however, and many dogs can live for 20 years or more. Average  age is dogs 13.

Cats

Outdoor cats generally live to be only four or five years old because they are more likely to catch viruses or to suffer some kind of trauma. Indoor cats, on the other hand, often can be expected to live 15-20 years.

Birds

Birds typically have a life expectancy of 10-30 years.

UPSC (Civil services Entrance exams)

If there is one exam in India which literally requires you to know everything under the sun, it has to be the Civil Services exam held by the Union Public Service Commission.

Bhagat Singh is often termed as the 'youth icon' or the 'revolutionary of the youth' but his stature is one that equals some of the prominent names in the Indian freedom struggle. His patriotism was not restricted to the strong violent outburst against the British; he rather had a mind and intellect of a genius who could foresee division of India on communal lines which many of the much-esteemed leaders of the time were unable to see. Keeping the cause of country ahead of the religion was another sign of his mature and rational mind. His educational qualifications establish the fact that his opinions and ideas were well thought and not just a product of hysterical mass movements.

National Council of Educational Research and Training

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organisation of the Government of India that was established on 1 September 1961 as a literary, scientific and charitable Society under the Societies' Registration Act (Act XXI of 1860). Its headquarters are located at Sri Aurbindo Marg in New Delhi.[1] Dr Hrushikesh Senapathy has been director of the council since September 2015. NCERT assists and advises the central and state governments on academic matters related to school education.

                                        

The Government of India's Ministry of Education resolved on 27 July 1961 to establish the National Council of Educational Research and Training, which formally began operation on 1 September 1961. The Council was formed by merging seven existing national government institutions, namely the Central Institute of Education, the Central Bureau of Textbook Research, the Central Bureau of Educational and Vocational Guidance, the Directorate of Extension Programmes for Secondary Education, the National Institute of Basic Education, the National Fundamental Education Centre, and the National Institute of Audio-Visual Education. It is separate from the National Council for Indian Education.NCERT has a comprehensive extension programme in which departments of the National Institute of Education, Regional Institute of Education, Central Institute of Vocational Education and field advisers' offices in the states are engaged in activities. Several programmes are organised in rural and backwards areas to reach out to functionaries in these areas.

SSC CGL 2016 exam analysis

Online Exams have started from Today. The Exams are successfully conducted, at various computerized centers all over the country. It is worth mentioning here that this is the First time, that CGL is conducted through online mode.

Now, the Day 1 of CGL 2016 Exam is over, and everyone here would like to know the Cut off, Difficulty Level and Nature of Questions asked in the exam, even more curious are those, who have their CGL Exams on 28th, 29th , 30th August and other upcoming days.

Well its really, difficult at this stage to predict the Cut off, as the exam is at the Initial Stages. Moreover, Cut offs will vary too much, as there is CGL Exam on Different Dates and Sessions, and for every session, there is a different Question Paper, which has its own Pattern and Difficulty Level.

General Awareness Questions
In General Awareness, section, a few Questions from previous paper are asked and most of these Questions comprises of Static GK. 3-4 Questions are asked from the Current Affairs also.
Overall, the section is somewhat Moderate to Difficult (No Easy). If, you attempted, 15 Questions with 90% accuracy, then thumbs up to you.

English Section

  1. NASA’s Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) declared that they have found evidence of significant amounts of water on the Earth’s Moon.
  2. The Sun makes a full rotation once every 25-35 days.
