Bitcoin is a non-aligned digital currency, which is not tied to any financial institution. The currency is not physical and is stored in a public ledger on the Cloud. A public ‘key,’ serving the role similar to a bank account number, is the address through which bitcoin transactions are made.The system was created to produce a currency that is transferable to another person without the need of a third party and with very low transaction fees.The transfers are faster and without high processing fees. It isn’t inflationary since there is a cap on the supply of bitcoins (21 million), which limits how much the currency can devalue through inflation. Apart from international money transfer, it can also be used for investment purposes.

                             

The digital payment system was created in 2008 by Satoshi Nakamoto, who left the project in 2010. He hasn’t revealed much about himself, and his anonymity has often raised concerns over the open-source nature of bitcoin.Its legality depends on what you are doing with it, who you are and where you live. Countries that have legally accepted bitcoin are U.S., Australia, Canada and the European Union. They are also regulating it to avoid misuse such as buying and selling of illegal goods. Meanwhile, Iceland, Ecuador and Bolivia have completely banned it.
Bitcoins can be bought from online exchanges using credit cards or dollars, euros and other currencies or directly from individuals via marketplaces. One can accept them as payment for goods or services.The currency isn’t physically formed at all. Instead, bitcoins are mined through a process of transaction verification and solving a computational puzzle. The ‘miner’ – special user authorized to verify and secure the transactions – who solves the puzzle first gets the opportunity to claim bitcoins as reward, which also becomes the newly released currency.Bitcoins can be stored either on your desktop, mobile, web or hardware using a software called Bitcoin Wallet.
You can sell bitcoin digitally either by exchanging it for another currency or making use of bitcoin trading marketplaces, also known as peer-to-peer trading space, where you post a request online and wait for a response. It can also be sold in person, by scanning a QR code on the other person’s phone.

According to the reports, only a 4% of the web is visible to the public and the rest of the 96% the web are hidden under the darkness. It is like the iceberg where you can see only a few portion of it and the rest are hidden underneath. The visible web is called “The surface web” and the hidden web is called as “The Deep Web”.

This also includes “The Dark Web” which is a subset of the deep web. The dark web is only a part of the deep web and it is not crawled by any search engine spiders.
The Dark Web is much smaller than the Deep Web and is made up of all different kinds of websites that sell drugs, weapons and even hire assassins. These are hidden networks avoiding their presence on the Surface Web, and its URLs are tailed up with .onion. These .onion domains are not indexed by regular search engines, so you can only access Dark Web with special software called ‘The Onion Browser,’ referred to as TOR.

Among these anonymity tools, Tor is one of the best browsers that you can pick to access the dark deep web Links. People use this hidden web sites for buying drugs and other illegal items from seemingly untraceable. It is also used by “people who need to remain anonymous on the web”. If you are using the deep web for illegal content, then you may get busted only in the case of lacking security.

For example, many people visited a storefront called the Silk Road on the Dark Web. The Silk Road was a large marketplace within the Dark Web, mostly infamous for the buying and selling of illegal narcotics, but also offering a wide variety of other goods for sale. Users could only purchase goods here using Bitcoins; virtual currency that is hidden inside the anonymous networks that make up the Dark Web.
 This marketplace was shut down in 2013 and is currently under investigation; according to several sources, there were over one billion worth of goods sold here before it was taken offline.

In industrial plants, CCTV equipment may be used to observe parts of a process from a central control room, for example when the environment is not suitable for humans. CCTV systems may operate continuously or only as required to monitor a particular event. A more advanced form of CCTV, utilising digital video recorders (DVRs), provides recording for possibly many years, with a variety of quality and performance options and extra features (such as motion detection and email alerts). More recently, decentralised IP cameras, some equipped with mega pixel sensors, support recording directly to network-attached storage devices, or internal flash for completely stand-alone operation.
There are about 350 million surveillance cameras worldwide as of 2016. About 65% of these cameras are installed in Asia. The growth of CCTV has been slowing in recent years.

SAMSUNG S9 2018

Samsung will launch Galaxy S9 on this date, if it sticks to its default schedule

Samsung's Galaxy S9 will be one of the first flagship premium handsets to greet the world early next year, rumours and speculation around the device are currently flooding the Internet.
Although Samsung hasn't talked anything about the Galaxy S9's debut, a prevailing chitchat suggests that the company is likely to return to its conventional schedule to launch the Galaxy S9 and S9+ at next year's Mobile World Congress (MWC), which will take place between February 26 and March 1 in Barcelona.
Excluding this year's Galaxy S8 and S8+, Samsung has been holding its press conference on the Sunday ahead of MWC. For example, the launch events of both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7 took place ahead of MWC in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

                   

If the company indeed sticks to its default schedule, the world will have the first official glimpse of the Galaxy S9 on February 25.
This will definitely be an earlier launch when compared to this year's launch of the Galaxy S8 series. But it should be noted that the Galaxy S8 was launched in March and released in April as Samsung was recovering from the unforeseen Galaxy Note 7 crisis.
A recent report also said that Samsung had finalised the specs of the Galaxy S9 and S9+, and the mass production of the duo was scheduled to begin in December. If true, it's quite safe to assume that the Galaxy S9 will hit stores sometime around MWC 2018.
According to rumours, the Galaxy S9 will retain the rear fingerprint sensor while sporting the same 5.8-inch Infinity Display as the Galaxy S8. As the phone is also rumoured to copy some of the iPhone X "tricks", it won't be a surprise if we end up seeing a new face recognition technology in the Galaxy S9 to rival Apple's face ID.

A fake and possibly malicious version of Facebook-owned WhatsApp was found lurking on Google Play Store as "Update WhatsApp Messenger" with developer name as 'WhatsApp Inc*'.

When IANS checked it on the Play Store, we found the app has been downloaded up to 5,000 times. There is another version under the same name which has a million downloads. The original WhatsApp has 1 billion downloads.

                      

The existence of the shady software was first highlighted by the popular WhatsApp change tracking website WABetaInfo, via Twitter user @MujtabaMHaq, IB Times reported late on Thursday.
According to the report, a version of popular mobile game Temple Run 2 can also be found which was uploaded in October. The software posing as WhatsApp Business already have several users complaining about it in comments section.

“DON’T DOWNLOAD THIS APP! IT’S FAKE! WhatsApp Business is not officially available yet for all,” the WABetaInfo social media account tweeted to its 30,000 followers. It added: “Check only official channels to download WhatsApp Business in future.” WhatsApp Business is yet to launch as a standalone service.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp was down for users worldwide for about an hour on Friday, with people complaining of issues with accessing its services. Some users took to Twitter to highlight problems with the messaging app. The Facebook-owned company later released a statement saying issue has been fixed, and apologised for any inconvenience.

According to downdetecor.com, 46 per cent users complained of problems with the connection while 41 per cent reported issues with sending or receiving messages. About 12 per cent WhatsApp had problems with ‘Last seen’ feature of the service.

According to a list leaked on Baidu, the Nokia 2, which will most probably be the most affordable Android powered Nokia smartphone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 212 processor in some markets and a low-end MediaTek processor is other markets.
The arrival of Nokia 2 will give the brand a much needed boost in the smartphone segment. Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, all based on Android operating system, were launched earlier this year and later the company launched their flagship Nokia 8.

Specifications

Processor- Nokia 2 is powered by Snapdragon 212, along with a Adreno 304 GPU. Although details about the RAM on Nokia 2 were not divulged during the launch event, it is expected to come with with 1GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage.

Battery- The Nokia 2 draws power from a 4100 mAh battery. HMD Global has promised 2 days worth of battery life with the Nokia 2, given that the phone is used for 5 hours a days. The modest Snapdragon 212 SoC on the phone is likely to aid the battery life

Display- One of the biggest selling points of the device is the 5-inch HD screen which comes with a contrast ratio of 13000:1. Moreover, the display comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Camera- Nokia 2 houses an 8-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera.

Software- In terms of software, the device will come with Android Nougat 7.1.1 which is a first for a phone in this segment. Nokia has kept the interface pretty close to stock version which will keep it easy on the processor. Moreover, Nokia is promising to keep the Nokia 2 'pure secure and up to date', making it future-proof. This means that the Nokia 2 will receive the update for Android Oreo in due time.

Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 5A smartphone soon and it may come with an 8-day battery life. While the Chinese mobile maker readies itself for the launch of its new Redmi device, an official poster of it has got leaked online. The Xiaomi 5A leak has revealed many new features and specifications of the phone including its full metal body. Xiaomi is expected to launch a series of smartphones, including the Redmi 5, Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5 Plus, and the Redmi 5A. Meanwhile, China's microblogging website Weibo has revealed a poster featuring the Redmi 5A or at least it appears to be so. It was first spotted by GizmoChina.

                            

According to the picture that has been leaked, the design of the Redmi 5A is very similar to the
previous Xiaomi Redmi 4A phone. Notably, the Redmi 4A had a plastic body, but the leak reveals that the new device may have a full metal build. A closer look at the poster suggests that the Xiaomi Redmi 5A may come with an 8-day standby battery life. However, the power of the battery in terms of 'mAh' has not be mentioned in the leaked image. Others features which have been revealed include a Snapdragon processor, Android OS based MIUI 9 (out-of-the-box).
One should remember that all these are just rumours and speculations, and the actual features will only get revealed once Xiaomi officially announces the Redmi 5A smartphone. This is not the first leak related to the Redmi 5A. Earlier, China's regulatory body TENAA had showcased the device too. That leak had suggested that the Redmi 5A will feature a 5 inch HD screen, 2GB and 3GB RAM variants, along with 16/32GB storage. It had reported that the phone will run the Snapdragon 425 SoC and will be fueled by a 3,000 mAh battery.
More than the Redmi 5A, the hype surrounding the Redmi Note 5 is getting bigger. Xiaomi is expected to launch the successor of the hugely popular Redmi Note 4 in the market. Airtel to introduce 4G phone under Rs 2000 to counter JioPhone

Earlier reports by The Economic Times have first disclosed that Airtel might bring a cheap 4G smartphone with voice and data benefits to compete against JioPhone. Reliance Jio had launched JioPhone on July 21 this year at the 40th AGM of Reliance Industries. Reliance Jio is charging only Rs 1,500 as refundable security charge for JioPhone which will be the first ever 4G VoLTE-enabled feature phone.

                          

According to ET reports, Airtel is in talks with smartphone manufacturers to build a 4G smartphone under Rs 2,500, with a bigger screen, better camera and better battery performance. Moreover, Airtel will not finance the manufacturing of this affordable 4G smartphone, like Reliance Industries did with JioPhone. This responsibility will be borne by the manufacturer. Airtel will only provide the voice call and data benefits, as well as allow users to download applications from Google Play store.
Nothing concrete has been said about the technical specifications of this rumoured phone by Airtel, yet. The phone could come with 4-inch screen, along with primary and selfie cameras, 1GB RAM, VoLTE calling, and a battery powerful enough to bear the burden from the power-draining 4G networks, said a report by India Today Tech. The report further said that the Airtel 4G phone could reach its customers by the end of this year after being announced in October.

Apple's next-generation iPhone, likely to be called the iPhone 8, could see some huge improvements over its predecessor. The company has already announced that it is hosting an event on September 12 in Cupertino, where the flagship phone will be shown off to the press for the first time. It's unclear at the moment when Apple plans to start taking pre-orders for the new iPhone. Now a new report claims the iPhone 8 pre-orders will go live on September 15.

                         

The German-language site Macerkopf, citing sources close to two network operators, claims the iPhone 8 pre-orders will begin on Friday, September 15. While it's not unknown whether Apple has communicated the date to its network operators, but this shouldn't come as a big surprise.  Apple has historically started taking pre-orders for its new iPhone models on Friday, immediately after the launch event.For instance, Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were unveiled on September 7 last year, with pre-orders going live on September 9. The devices started shipping a week later on September 16 in the US. So, the chances are, the company may start taking the iPhone 8 pre-orders on Friday itself following the global debut. In June 2014, Google had announced 'Android One', a hardware reference design, for entry-level devices and the goal was to get the next billion people online by providing them with high quality, affordable phones. It was designed for consumers in developing countries and the first set of Android devices were launched first in India. Micromax, Lava and Karbonn launched Android One devices, which had basic specs, but it wasn't an instant hit among the consumers. In June 2015, Recode reported Android One was "a disappointment". However, it wasn't enough to stop Google and the search giant is back with the new range of Android One devices.


                          

Google is once again trying to revive the Android One with a wide range of devices and not just entry-level phones. Google has teamed up with Xiaomi to launch Mi A1, which is manufactured by Xiaomi and powered by Google. Although launched in India first, the device will be available in a dozens of countries across Asia Pacific, Europe, America and Middle East and Africa. But this isn't the first Android One device in mid-range as in Japan, Y! Mobile has got S1 and S2 smartphone with 13MP rear camera and waterproof exteriors whereas General Mobile in Turkey is selling GM5 and GM6 with up to 128GB and 13MP rear camera.

We're extending our commitment to Android One by working with more partners to build phones that run a software experience designed by Google."
Google refers Android One as Android at its best as it comes with a clean, simple design and your favourite Google experiences front and centre. It commits to a simple set of pre-installed apps that don't consume much storage space. Android One comes with pure Android OS minus any custom UI or unnecessary apps. They also come with Google Assistant built-in, wherever available. They also have unlimited storage for all photos and videos on the cloud.

Android One phones get the latest technology and security measure apps, which have been pre-installed by the handset manufacturers. Shipping with the latest Android Nougat, these devices also receive latest version of monthly security updates, and a guaranteed OS upgrades as and when released by Google. Android One webpage also claims to feature best-in-class hardware for its price.
Google's mobile operating system, Android, was first unveiled in 2007, sometime after Apple unveiled the iconic iPhone that changed the smartphone industry forever. Over the last decade, established players as well as new handset manufacturers have adopted the Android Operating System (OS) with Android dominating the smartphone space with a whopping 87.7 per cent market share, whereas Apple comes second with iOS having 12.1 percent (figures by Gartner).

It collects information about your surfing habits, browsing history, or personal information (such as credit card numbers), and often uses the Internet to pass this information along to third parties without you knowing. Because spyware exists as independent executable programs, they have the ability to monitor keystrokes, scan files on the hard drive, snoop other applications, such as chat programs or word processors, install other spyware programs, read cookies, change the default home page on the Web browser, consistently relaying this information back to the spyware author who will either use it for advertising/marketing purposes or sell the information to another party.
Spyware is similar to a Trojan horse in that users unwittingly install the product when they install something else. A common way to become a victim of spyware is to download certain peer-to-peer file swapping products that are available today.

How to prevent spyware
1.Use antivirus and anti-spyware software.
2.Ensure that your browser, operating system, and software have the latest updates and security patches.
3.Set your browser security and privacy levels higher.
4.Use extreme caution if you frequent file-sharing sites.
5.Don't click on pop-up ads.

A new messaging app focused on privacy and trust has soared in popularity since its release in June.
Saharah is a messaging app which was designed as a way for people to share their honest thoughts anonymously with their friends and contacts. The App’s description states, "Sarahah helps you in discovering your strengths and areas for improvement by receiving honest feedback from your employees and your friends in a private manner."

   
                          

The idea is simple - you create a Sarahah profile, which anyone can visit. Even without logging in, people can visit your profile and leave messages, anonymously. If they have logged in, messages are still anonymous by default, but users can choose to tag their identity.
On the receivers app, all the incoming messages show up in an inbox, and you can flag messages, delete them, reply, or favourite them to find them easily later.

Expanding the ability to appeal more videos

YouTube has always been a place for creators around the world to tell their stories, make connections and earn money. We care about users, creators and advertisers and have, for over a decade, strived to balance and align their interests. In the last few months we spent time addressing concerns from advertisers around where their ads are placed. With new controls and guidelines implemented, many creators have seen their earnings return to normal as advertisers resumed their campaigns. As a part of these recent changes, however, some videos were classified as not suitable for all advertisers, limiting the number of ads served on those videos. There was also no ability to directly appeal in Video Manager. Over the next few weeks, we plan to roll out new icons that will give you a more detailed understanding of how each and every video on your channel (or channels) is monetizing as well as the ability to appeal if you think a video is misclassified. We want our systems to get better and better—and every appeal helps:

•  Indicates videos that can earn money from the broadest set of advertisers and from YouTube Red. No change from today.
• Indicates videos are still eligible to earn money in YouTube Red, but will have limited or no ads because the video has been classified as either not suitable for all advertisers, or has been fully demonetized because we believe it doesn’t meet our advertising guidelines.
•  Indicates videos that will receive no revenue from ads or YouTube Red. This might be because of a copyright strike, Content ID claim, or Community Guidelines strike.

• You can always use our monetization troubleshooter to see what actions you can take on your video. The status of your appeal will now be in blue text below the monetization icon. If your appeal is successful, more ads may be served on your videos.

When this feature is available in your account, you will see a notification in Creator Studio. It’s important to note that the revenue being earned by your video is not changing with this launch. Instead, this update gives you a more detailed understanding of whether your video has been identified as not suitable for all advertisers and provides the chance to appeal in Video Manager. As always, you can also go into YouTube Analytics to see your revenue report for any video.

In the run-up to the celebrations of India's 71st Independence Day, Intex Technologies, a local mobile handset player today showcased its first 4G-Volte Feature Phone or Smart Feature Phone model – Intex Turbo+ 4G – as part of its special Feature Phones series: the Navratna.

The first phone of the Smart Feature Phone Series, known as the Navratna Series, is the Intex Turbo+ 4G The Navratna series from Intex will include one 4G VoLTE model phone, and other eight 2G models in the price range of Rs. 700/- to Rs. 1500/-.
Intex Turbo+ 4G comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display. It runs KaiOS software and is powered by a Dual-core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. Also, this Intex phone supports an expandable memory of up to 32GB. Moreover, the 4G-enabled VoLTe feature phone has a 2MP rear camera and VGA front shooter. As far as the battery is concerned, it has 2000mAh of back up.
According to the IE report, Intex's eight other 2G-feature phone models are further divided into ECO series, Turbo series, and Ultra series. Intex ECO series phones sport a 1.8-inch QQVGA display however rest of the series models have the 2.4-inch display.

                       

Is it a Reliance Jio phone impact? Intex on Tuesday launched its first 4G enable VoLTE feature phone called Turbo+ 4G in India. The launch by Intex comes weeks after Mukesh Ambani announced to launch Jio Phone. Intex has launched this 4G-enabled feature phone as a part of company's Navratna series. The series includes eight other 2G phone models in the price range of Rs 700 to Rs 1500, according to a report in The Indian Express.

Nokia has confirmed that it received an upfront cash payment of €1.7 billion ($2 billion) from Apple as part of the patent licensing lawsuit the companies settled in May.

This seems like quite a lot of money, but Nokia won’t get $2 billion every quarter — this was non-recurring catch-up revenue. Nokia hasn’t said what it plans to do with all this cash.
The lawsuit began late last year. Nokia first accused Apple of infringing some of Nokia’s patents as well as patents from NSN and Alcatel-Lucent — Nokia owns those companies and their respective patent portfolios.

According to Nokia, it’s been a longstanding infringement as Apple has allegedly relied on some of Nokia’s patents since the iPhone 3GS. Those patents are related to software, video coding, chipsets, display, UI and antenna.
Under the agreement, Nokia is providing Apple with certain network infrastructure products and services while Apple will sell Nokia digital health products in its online and retail stores. The two firms also promised to collaborate on future digital-health initiatives.
It’s going to be interesting to look at Nokia’s upcoming quarterly earnings release to figure out how much Apple is paying for this agreement. But there’s one thing for sure ,Nokia must be quite happy with this new revenue stream.
